Career History

Adrian joined Dyke Yaxley in 1994 and qualified as an AAT Accounts Technician. His passion and interest for IT led to him being appointed as in-house IT Manager at Dyke Yaxley in 1997.

Adrian radically overhauled the Dyke Yaxley IT system in 1998 and then identified the opportunity to out-source his team’s IT skills to clients and other local businesses.

Re-branded as Flex IT, the company now has a growing team of technicians working for a large local and national client base, including the League Managers’ Association and Professional Cricketers’ Association.

Becoming a father

Snowboarding, swimming, football (of a fashion!) and eating!

Matt Childerhouse

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the team in all areas of business

Career History

Matt joined Dyke Yaxley in the Administration Department, and later moved into Accounts where he qualified as an AAT Accounts Technician and part-qualified ACCA.

In 1998, Matt made a career change into IT when he joined Adrian Key in launching IT services within Dyke Yaxley.

After gaining technical exams and experience, Matt is now responsible for managing Flex IT. He focuses on winning new business and demonstrating quality and committed customer service to Flex IT’s expanding client base.

Simon Davies

Career History

From a young age, Simon has been interested in computers and IT, studying Information Systems at Secondary School and going on to complete a Geography and Computer Science degree at Chester College.

After completing his degree, Simon accepted a full-time position in the IT Department at Dyke Yaxley and has never looked back since. Simon is a valuable member of the team and in 2014 he will have completed 10 years working at Flex.

Vincent Crean

Key responsibilities:

  • Assessing, maintaining and updating IT systems and networks
  • Troubleshooting and repairing networks, servers and workstation problems

Career History

After completing his degree in Environmental Monitoring and Protection, Vinny worked in local authority for one year. He was then appointed as Health and Safety and IT specialist for the Furrows Group, where he worked for eight years.

Vinny later made the decision to do some travelling with friends, where he visited New Zealand and Australia, travelling and working for two years.

When Vinny returned home from New Zealand and Australia he looked to pursue a career within IT, where he was appointed IT support technician for Flex IT in 2007.

Sam Payne

Key responsibilities:

  • Resolving technical issues and logging Flex IT calls
  • Deliver IT support to clients
  • Configuring new workstations and laptops

Career History

Sam joined the Flex in-house team in 2012. He is one of the first points of contact for customers who need help and support.

Sam works with clients from a wide variety of industry sectors, managing calls that come into the Flex IT helpdesk. He carries out regular checks on client systems and also configures new workstations and laptops.

Michael Ross

Career history

Michael graduated from Wolverhampton University in 2012 and began his IT career shortly afterwards, working for an IT firm based in Milton Keynes and then in Telford. Michael joined Flex IT in 2015 as an IT Support Technician.

Michael particularly enjoys his role at Flex IT as it allows him regular face-to-face interaction with customers when he travels to their site, and prides himself in adpating to his surroundings.

Michael describes working for the firm as the most enjoyable place he’s worked due to the friendly staff – who make it lot easier to get out of bed in the mornings! And hopes to continue increasing his knowledge of computing at a more technical/networking level.

Responsibilities:

Michael’s daily duties as an IT technician involves: Providing high quality IT support to a wide range of customers, which consists of both answering queries via phone and visiting sites.

Coming 2nd place in a skiing competition in Italy – with the 3rd place awarded to an F1 driver, who wasn’t too happy about getting beaten by a 14 year old!

Tom Richards

Career history

Tom joined Flex IT as an apprentice in 2015 after completing his A-levels at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College. Prior to joining Flex, Tom gained customer service experience after working as a sales assistant for two years, and also volunteers his time to help people within the local area with their IT or technical issues.

Tom enjoys helping clients solve their IT problems and also enjoys the variety of work, and being able to meet new people on a regular basis.

Tom hopes to complete his apprenticeship with Flex IT and then progress into full time employment in IT.

Riding motorbikes, meteorology and web design.

What’s your greatest achievement?

Securing an apprenticeship with Flex IT and completing my A-Levels. I also volunteer at Pontesbury Broadplace, helping people within the local area who have issues with IT or technology.

What would you be doing if not at Flex?

Meteorologist.

Professional Background

Neve joined Flex IT as IT Support Technician in 2016 having completed her studies at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College whilst working in retail.

Neve hopes that during her time at Flex IT, she can expand her existing knowledge in IT and continue learning new skills. Neve’s aims for working at Flex is to assist customers to the best of her ability and provide excellent customer service at all times.
